We are in the process of setting up a Battery
chicken rescue. Whereupon several times a year we will take chickens
from battery & chicken farms, acclimatize them to living free range
and then re-home them to loving free range homes.
We all now seem to be aware of the horrors of battery chicken farms
and we know ourselves that the path we are about to embark on will
not be an easy one.
We know that the chickens may be bald from pecking at each others
feathers from the stress of being "Cooped up" on the farms.
We know that they will have to learn to be natural chickens and
learn to scratch and forage in the garden. Luckily we already have
chickens so hopefully they will watch and learn what to do from
them.
We are asking for donations from you the kind public to help us
start up the chicken rescue, we need sheds and more fencing and will
need some sort of publicity when it is time to re-home them.
We also need to be able to build a field shelter for the rescue
ponies. We know they are hardy ponies but they are in a field that
is quite exposed so we need to get the shelter built before winter.
