Meet the Flock

Bathtime!!

Mcbeal & Meeshka
Amazing dog. Very gentle unless you just happen to be another dog.
She loves the cats and each time a new one has been brought into the home she has allowed them to savage her. She lays on the settee and each of the cats will trample all over her, she lays there and does nothing!
Meeshka…
Re-homed from the cat rescue. She is a bit of a schizophrenic cat. There is her pet name “mee mee” when she is loveable and cute and then sometimes it’s “moo moo” when she is really twitchy and will not come near you!
She has a ‘thing’ going with Aoife, she runs at her, Aoife screams and Meeshka used to get into trouble for it. We realised Aoife is a drama queen and Meeshka wasn’t touching here, so we ignore their antics now.

Tazzi
I (Diane) found her at work, she had appeared from an adjoining field and with no houses in the vicinity it was assumed she was a feral. I searched for the mother but there was no other cat to be found. She was hand reared as she was only a few weeks old and when found had not been weaned.

Pookah…
Nicknames, Pookie, poo, pookie pie, pooh bear etc. He was a rescue, he is the most affectionate loving cat and he cries like a girl when he wants something.
He is a polydactyl cat sometimes they are called Hemmingway’s. He has 6 claws instead of 4 on each paw. This enables him to be quite dextrous. It did freak us out a little when we first got him and he used to pick up his cat biscuits in his paw and put them in his mouth!!

Brian
A rescued cat. Named after the dog on “family guy” though we tell
our Irish friends he is named after the last High King of Ireland,
so we seem more intellectual than we actually are!
He turned up a mess, and is now a soft and gentle kitty although he does terrorize the dog! The dog is petrified of him and he knows it!
Strange thing about Brian is he will not let you stroke him when he is on his feet in the house, his back drops and his belly trails on the floor if you try. Outside you can stroke him, no problem. He likes to go for long walks with the dog he hates but also likes to be carried all the way back!

Aoife…
Another rescue. Walks around like a hyena. She tends to walk on tiptoe which looks really weird. Her hobbies are killing birds, killing voles, killing butterflies, well actually just killing things!
She was found living outside on her own at only a few weeks old. She was managing to survive alone probably by eating the things she had KILLED!
Very affectionate and still a big baby. Very affectionate that is unless you are a bird, vole, or butterfly etc, you get the idea!

Vince and Howard.
Two Billy goats and so mischievous! They are let out into the gardens each day so they can eat the brambles, nettles and weeds. They don’t eat them, they like to eat concrete walls, clematis plants, my shamrock, roses and washing on the line.
So basically anything they shouldn’t eat, they love!
They are really naughty but they follow us round like dogs and love to have a cuddle.
These lads were heading for slaughter as no-one wants Billy’s, it is such a shame as they make great pets.

Midnight and Moonshine. (And Us!)
Two rescues. As far as we know they are Welsh section A’s. They are about 6 years old and 11 hands.
They had been rescued before and the woman who cared for them could no longer keep them, so we took them on.
These lovely ponies are really gentle and love nothing more than a good brush down and a biscuit afterwards!
They really like interacting with us and we adore them.

Chickens and other feathery things,
Chloe, Radcliff, Bunty, Babs, Sally and Sue and the 3 little chicks, chicky one, chicky two and chicky three.
Rudy the randy rooster (In the Logo at the top of each page) who is an absolute star when it comes to looking after the girls.

Deana and Doug duck.
They were named after friends of ours too.
They are Muscovy ducks and
love eating our plants. They are both really sweet and curious
creatures and there treat is when I have been picking out leaves
from our polytunnel. They wait outside expectantly waiting for
their reward.

Gobbles the turkey!
Came to us recovering from a fractured leg. We spent lots of time on him, gently stroking him, talking to him, feeding him and now he can really get about he loves to chase us a round the garden and squaring up to us!
He makes such a racket and pecks our feet.
What can we do but love him? Grrrr!
Is it Christmas yet????
